A pre-operative clearance is a comprehensive medical assessment to confirm you are healthy enough for surgery and anesthesia. It typically includes:
History
Review of conditions, surgeries, allergies, medications & family history
Physical exam
Vital signs
Lab work
Heart, lungs, and overall health check-up
Blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, oxygen levels
Blood work, urinalysis, or other necessary screenings
Cardiac testing
EKG or other heart tests if indicated
Risk assessment
Evaluation of conditions affecting surgery or recovery
Documentation
Clearance forms sent to your surgeon's office
This visit provides medical clearance only and does not replace cardiology clearance. If needed, we are happy to refer you to a cardiologist. Final clearance is always at the physician's discretion.
